Company History
Dearborn Brothers Construction, Inc. is an excavation and site work construction company located in Buxton, Maine. The company, which was started in 1984 by Ron and Dick Dearborn along with their wives Kristi and Debby, has developed into one of the leading earthwork construction companies in southern Maine.
In the early 1980’s, Ron and Dick Dearborn were both heavily involved in the construction industry in southern Maine. Dick was a site supervisor for a major earthwork construction company specializing in residential and commercial earthwork projects, and Ron Dearborn owned and operated Dearborn Concrete Construction, specializing in residential and commercial concrete form construction. In 1984, the brothers decided to combine their talents and strike out on their own.
Customers were offered the convenience of working with only one contractor, rather than dealing with the complications of coordinating several different contractors. This was the niche that allowed Dearborn Brothers Construction to be the preferred site work contractor for many of the largest builders and real estate developers throughout the area. Throughout the mid and late 1980’s Dearborn Brothers Construction built a solid reputation providing the best residential site work construction packages in southern Maine.
By the early 1990’s Dearborn Brothers had grown considerably. With an experienced crew of employees and a full fleet of dump trucks and heavy equipment, the brothers felt that the time was right to work their way into commercial construction. Beginning with smaller commercial site work projects and major landfill closures, Dearborn Brothers rapidly became one of the most reputable commercial earthwork construction companies in the area. In conjunction with the company’s growth in fleet and employees, Dearborn Brothers also acquired several gravel pits and aggregate quarries in southern Maine to further enhance the company’s ability to provide and process their own aggregate materials, allowing the company greater availability of aggregate products.
Dick Dearborn and his wife Debby retired in 2002. Ron, his wife Kristi, and the experienced staff of Dearborn Brothers Construction, (several of whom have been with the company since its incorporation in the early 1980’s) have remained at the forefront of the construction industry. Today, Dearborn Brothers Construction is widely known throughout southern and central Maine as a quality provider of earthwork construction with projects ranging from small residential jobs to multi-million dollar commercial site work and road construction projects. With an experienced staff and a large well-maintained fleet of equipment, Dearborn Brothers Construction is able to complete any project with timeliness, quality, and professionalism.
